Final Cut Pro Tip #030 – Match Frame and Beyond

Often I will be editing on the timeline in Final Cut and need to go back and find the clip in the browser. If you only have a few clips this is not a problem, but if you have a lot it can be a very time consuming task. To solve this problem you can use match frame and reveal master clip commands.

In the timeline move the playhead over the clip that you want to find. Press the f key to preform a match frame. The clip with load into the viewer window, and it will also be come the active window. Now press shift f to reveal the master clip. Your clip should now be selected in the browser window.
