Final Cut Pro Tip #035 – Gang
You can use the gang feature in Final Cut Pro for several different purposes. While you can use the new multi cam features for multiple camera work, you can use the gang feature to link up other video clips that may not have the multi cam relationship. It is a also a great compare feature.
To use gang simply align the playhead in both the viewer and canvas to the point you want to gang to. Select gang from either canvas or viewer window and you sources are ganged together.
As you move through the timeline, or the browser window you will notice that both sources will stay together. When you load a new clip or sequence, you will loose the gang relation ship. If you have two items that you will be using regularly, I recommend using a marker to mark the sync point of each clip or sequence.
