Final Cut Pro Tip #025 – Set Point Based on Duration
One of the coolest tricks in Final Cut Pro is the ability to set a point based on the duration of the clip. This is especially useful when you know that you need a clip to be a specific duration.
Load the clip that you want to work with into the viewer window. Find and set the appropriate in or out point (but not both). In the duration dialog box, in the upper left had corner of the viewer window, enter the duration that you want your clip to be. The in or out point is automatically added. It is that easy.
