Alright here is my first Final Cut Pro Tip – Fit to Window (on the timeline)
Use the fit to window command, simply use the key combination shift z (with the timeline window selected) and the entire length of the timeline will fit in to the timeline window. This also works in the Canvas window and the View window to change the size of the video to fit within the size of the UI.
This is one of my favorite tips because it really saves a lot or time when needing to navigate a large timeline, and I don’t know how may people are actually aware they can do this on the timeline. It is also a great way to clean up the project before a save, this way the next time you open FCP the entire timeline will load in the window.
