Match Frame to Source File
As mentioned in tip #30, the match frame feature in Final Cut Pro can be very handy for quickly getting back to a master clip. To quickly recap, the f key will match the frame of the playhead, in the timeline or canvas, to the same frame of the master clip in the viewer. From there you can reveal the master clip in the browser by pressing shift f.
However, there are times that you many not want to match back to the master clip, but actually match back to the source file. For example, if you had applied an effect to the master clip, and needed to use that file without the effect, matching back to the source file is very efficient. To do this simply press option command f or navigate to the option using the view menu.
