The iPhone in January? Rumored Inside Information!

If you read the latest Geeky Mac blog post, you have probably checked out some really great a geeky Mac podcasts. One podcast that was not mentioned is called Diggnation. This mostly because it is not necessarily Mac based, but it does do cover a plethora of geeky tech stuff. According to MacRumors, Kevin Rose, one of the hosts, discussed some inside information that he had regarding the Apple iPhone.

In the latest episode of Diggnation, Kevin Rose (at ~38:30) claims to know some details about the Apple phone from a “solid” source.

According to Rose, little bit of inside info on the Apple phone:

  • Going to be coming out in January
  • All phone providers
  • “It’s small as sh*t”
  • Don’t know anything about the Operating System
  • The OS is supposed to be “cool”
  • Doing some unique things
  • Two batteries, one charger. One for MP3 portion and one for Phone.
  • 4GB ($249) and 8GB ($449)
  • Flash memory, Slide out keyboard
  • Maybe touch screen?

Kevin Rose was co-host of The Screen Savers on Tech TV and later started Digg.com. Last year, he offered last minute rumors prior to Macworld San Francisco which turned out to be accurate. He also predicted the iPod nano.

The iPhone is a rumored, but so far non-existent device that is believed to be in the works. Over the past year or so there have been countless rumors related to its development. While there is still no concrete evidence of any such device it is commonly believed that it will be announced at the Macworld Expo in January of 2007.

The rumor mill has been flooded lately with speculation from analysts to cell phone companies, you name it. At this point if Apple does not release a phone, it may do more damage than they know. While it is ironic that the consumers seam to be deciding what products they want, Apple will hopefully deliver above the already high expectations.
