No Apple at NAB 2008 (or Avid)

It looks as though the exhibit halls of this years National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) convention will be rather empty. First Avid pulled out, now Apple.

According to a report published on Macenstein.com, Apple thinks it has better ways to reach it’s customers.

“Apple is participating in fewer trade shows this year,” said Anuj Nayar, senior manager of PR at Apple. “Often there are better ways to reach our customers. The increasing popularity of our retail stores and Apple.com Web site allows us to directly reach more than 100 million customers around the world in innovative new ways.”

NAB, has been the launching ground for Final Cut Pro, which quickly became the world’s leading video editing software.
