Final Cut Pro Tip #038 – Add Edit

An alternative way to quickly add an edit to a clip, without using the razor blade, is to use the add edit command (control v). Using this you can quickly make an edit exactly where your playhead is parked on the timeline. One of the major benefits to this method is that you can make these edits in real time. As you play your sequence and use the add edit command, you will notice markers placed in the timeline. Once you stop playback, all the edits that you just added are applied.
